Niantic has announced the dates and locations for Pokémon GO Fest 2025. This article details the upcoming event, along with two additional events launching this January.

Pokémon GO Fest 2025: Dates and Locations

Launching in June 2025

Niantic revealed the Pokémon GO Fest 2025 schedule on January 6th, 2025. This three-day event will take place in three cities on different dates:

• Osaka, Japan: May 29th - June 1st
• Jersey City, New Jersey, USA: June 6th - June 8th
• Paris, France: June 13th - June 15th

A Global Pokémon GO Event

Pokémon GO Fest is a global event offering exclusive items, gameplay, and bonuses. In-person events in various cities provide unique experiences requiring ticket purchase.

The event highlights rare Pokémon unavailable through standard gameplay. For example, the 2024 event featured Dusk Mane Necrozma, Dawn Wings Necrozma, and Marshadow. Shiny Pokémon will also have increased appearance rates, varying by location.

In-person attendees can enjoy exclusive merchandise, themed sets, community hubs, and team lounges. While specifics for 2025 are still under wraps, expect a similar format to previous years.

Two More Pokémon GO Events in January

Beyond Pokémon GO Fest, Niantic announced two additional January events: Fashion Week: Taken Over and Shadow Raid Day.

Fashion Week: Taken Over will run from January 15th, 12:00 pm to January 19th, 8:00 pm (local time). Rescue Shadow Palkia from Team GO Rocket and Giovanni. Shroodle and Grafaiai will debut, hatching from 12 km Eggs. Other Shadow Pokémon like Snivy and Tepig will also appear. Snapshot encounters with a fashion-themed Croagunk are possible.

Shadow Raid Day, on January 19th from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm (local time), features Five-Star Shadow Raids to capture Shadow Ho-Oh. A $5 USD ticket grants eight additional Raid Passes, increased Rare Candy XL chances, 2x Stardust, and 50% more XP from Raids. Shiny Ho-Oh will have increased encounter rates, and successful captures can learn its signature move, Sacred Fire, using a Charged TM.
