Japanese YouTuber Hajimesyacho took to Twitter (X) to announce his extraordinary feat of collecting 50,000 cards in Pokémon TCG Pocket. Known for his diverse content ranging from product reviews to vlogs and challenges, Hajimesyacho's latest achievement is nothing short of spectacular.

On January 19, 2025, Hajimesyacho shared that he had been buying the maximum daily limit of 720 Poké Gold every day since the mobile game's launch on October 30, 2024. This commitment equates to roughly $100 spent daily, resulting in a total expenditure of approximately $8,500 over the 85 days the game has been live.

This impressive total does not account for any special sales events during the global launch or holiday season. Hajimesyacho's dedication allowed him to collect cards from the Genetic Apex (A1) and Mythical Island booster packs, as well as time-exclusive promo cards. Notably, the latest card added to the game is the Trainer card named Pokedex, which was released to celebrate the milestone of 40 billion cards collected worldwide in Pokémon TCG Pocket.

McDonald’s X Pokemon Happy Meals Collab

On January 21, 2025, The Pokémon Company unveiled a thrilling collaboration with McDonald's, offering fans exclusive Pokémon-themed Happy Meal boxes. These boxes come with 15 collectible physical cards, including sought-after cards like Miraidon, Roaring Moon, and Rayquaza. Seven of these cards boast a "holo" or "foil" finish, adding to their allure.

For players of Pokémon TCG Pocket, the collaboration brings additional rewards: 24 Pack Hourglasses and 12 Hourglasses, which can be redeemed to open booster packs or select a card via Wonder Pick.

Pokemon TCG Pocket’s Upcoming Trade Feature

On January 17, 2025, Pokémon TCG Pocket announced details about its eagerly awaited trade feature. Trades can be conducted only between friends and are limited to cards of the same rarity, ranging from 1-4 diamonds and 1-star rarity. Highly sought-after cards like Special Illustration Rare, Immersive, and Crown Rares will not be available for trade. An item must be consumed to facilitate trades, similar to the Stardust system in Pokémon GO.

Currently, cards from the Genetic Apex (A1) and Mythical Island booster packs are eligible for trade, with plans to expand this selection in the future. The TCG Pocket team is committed to enhancing the trade feature based on player feedback, aiming to balance ease and enjoyment in collecting.
