What Is a Tour Pass in *Pokemon GO*?

The Tour Pass is a fresh addition introduced with the Global event for *Pokemon GO* Tour: Unova. This feature involves completing various tasks to earn Tour Points. These points can be used to unlock rewards, increase your rank, and enhance event bonuses during the GO Tour Unova event.

The Tour Pass is free, and players will receive one automatically when the *Pokemon GO* Tour: Unova event kicks off on February 24 at 10 AM local time. There's also a paid version, the Tour Pass Deluxe, which costs $14.99 USD or its local equivalent. This deluxe version offers an instant encounter with Victini, along with "upgraded rewards and faster progression" through the Tour Pass levels.

How Do You Earn Tour Points & What Do They Do?

Tour Points are earned through in-game activities similar to the research tasks we're all familiar with. These include catching Pokemon, participating in raids, and hatching eggs. Additionally, there are Pass Tasks that refresh daily during GO Tour, providing more opportunities to earn points.

By collecting these Tour Points, players can unlock various rewards, such as items, Pokemon encounters, candy, and Poke Balls, while also increasing their rank within the Tour Pass tiers system. Ranking up not only unlocks these rewards but also boosts the Catch XP bonus during *Pokemon GO* Tour: Unova:

• 1.5× Catch XP upon reaching Tier 2
• 2× Catch XP upon reaching Tier 3
• 3× Catch XP upon reaching Tier 4

Niantic has kept some details under wraps, promising more information closer to the event, hinting at additional bonuses or rewards in the free *Pokemon GO* Tour Pass. The highest reward tier in the free pass leads to a Zorua encounter with a special background, while the paid Tour Pass Deluxe offers a unique final reward—a new item called a Lucky Trinket.

What Is a Lucky Trinket?

The Lucky Trinket is an exclusive item for those who purchase the Tour Pass Deluxe. It's the final reward in the deluxe path and requires significant playtime during the GO Tour Global event to obtain.

This one-time-use item allows you to transform one of your friends into a Lucky Friend, enabling you to trade with them for a Lucky Pokemon without needing to be Best Friends. However, you must be at least Great Friends to use it. Lucky Trinkets earned during GO Tour: Unova will expire on March 9, 2025, so they're only available for a limited time.
