Attention all GoldenEye enthusiasts, it's time to rally — IO Interactive has just announced that their highly anticipated James Bond game, Project 007, is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. According to IO Interactive's official website, this game will introduce an entirely new narrative within the iconic Bond universe. Players will have the thrilling opportunity to step into the shoes of the world's favorite Secret Agent and embark on the very first James Bond origin story, earning their 00 status along the way.
In an interview with IGN back in October, IO Interactive's head, Hakan Abrak, shared his excitement about crafting this brand-new origin story for the beloved spy. "What's exciting about that project is that we actually got to do an original story. So it's not a gamification of a movie," Abrak explained. He emphasized that this game is a completely original tale, setting the stage for what he hopes will become a significant trilogy in the future. Furthermore, Abrak highlighted the introduction of a new Bond, designed from the ground up for gamers. "It's extremely exciting with all the tradition and all the history there is there together to work on this together with the family of creating a young Bond for gamers; a Bond that the gamers can call their own and grow with."
While fans eagerly await further details, a release date for Project 007 has yet to be confirmed. To stay updated on all the announcements made during the Nintendo Direct, you can find more information here.
