Where to Find Sam in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 (KCD2)

If you're aiming for the best ending in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, rescuing Sam is crucial. Knowing exactly where to find Sam and how to execute his rescue will greatly enhance your chances of achieving that perfect conclusion.

Rescuing Sam During “Reckoning”

As you approach the climax of the main quest line, you'll discover that Sam is being held captive at Praguer’s Camp, captured by Brabant. Your opportunity to save him comes during the "Reckoning" quest. Infiltrating the camp can be done through stealth or by force, but to move freely within the camp without raising alarms, you'll need a guard's outfit. You can acquire this by either killing a guard and hiding his body or by looting one of the many chests scattered around the camp. Once you have the outfit, equip it to blend in and search for Sam.

Sam is located in the barn on the left side of the camp, just past the open area with a cooking fire. To reach him, use the ladder on the side of the barn and drop down inside. Here, you'll confront Brabant. You have the choice to either kill or spare him; sparing him contributes to the best ending.

When to Rescue Sam

After freeing Sam, don't rush to escape just yet. Sam will inform you about von Aulitz, who is also in the camp. It's advisable to deal with von Aulitz first, then secure a horse, before returning to Sam to help him escape. Sam can wait safely in the barn while you complete these tasks.

Von Aulitz is found in the main part of the camp. With your guard outfit, you can enter his quarters without trouble. When you find von Aulitz, he's already dying and requests a dignified death, which is the most honorable choice. Alternatively, you can kill him cruelly or leave him to die slowly, with the latter option also contributing to the best ending.

Once you've dealt with von Aulitz, return to Sam in the barn. If questioned by a guard about moving Sam, simply say you're handling a body to avoid suspicion. Exit the camp through the gates, turn right, and follow the perimeter until you reach the stables.
