Sonic Rumble has already made waves with its exciting pre-launch crossover event, dubbed Crossover Event #0: SEGA Stars, even before its global debut. This event, running from now until May 7th, is set to conclude just before the game's worldwide launch on May 8th. Currently in soft launch and available in over 40 countries, Sonic Rumble has been rolling out in stages. It first hit regions like the Philippines, Scandinavian countries, and Colombia during Pre-Launch 1 in Summer 2024, followed by Pre-Launch 2 in places like Canada, Turkey, Malaysia, and South Africa.
What’s in Store?
For players in the soft-launch regions, the Sonic Rumble SEGA Stars crossover is a treasure trove of nostalgic fun. Kicking off the event, fans of Altered Beast can relive the thrill with the Werewolf transformation, available for free. If you're into those classic beast modes, the Werebear and Weredragon are also up for grabs. The Weredragon comes with the Premium Pass, while the Werebear can be purchased using regular rings.
Adding a touch of Fantasy Zone to the mix, Opa-Opa and Upa-Upa join the party. Opa-Opa is exclusive to the Premium Pass, whereas Upa-Upa can be obtained through fragments, costing 700 standard rings each. Moreover, AiAi and MeeMee from Super Monkey Ball have joined the fray. To get AiAi, you'll need to spend 729 Red Star Rings. For a visual treat, check out the crossover event in the video below.
Earn Exclusive Goodies During the Sonic Rumble SEGA Stars Crossover
During the event, you can score exclusive goodies by collecting SEGA logos in matches. It might seem odd for the event to be live before the global release, but SEGA has confirmed that many of these pre-release rewards will return later. The first crossover event dives deep into SEGA's rich catalog, blending monkeys, sentient arcade ships, and buff were-creatures with Sonic and friends, making Sonic Rumble a promising adventure.
You can download the game from the Google Play Store now or wait for its release on May 8th in your region. And don't forget to check out our coverage on Vampire Survivors' SaGa-Based DLC Emerald Diorama, along with the Cross-Save Update.
