The Sims is turning 25, and Electronic Arts is pulling out all the stops to celebrate this milestone. From its humble beginnings as a SimCity spin-off to the beloved storytelling phenomenon it is today, The Sims has touched the lives of countless players around the world.
What’s The Sims Planning for Its 25th Birthday?
Get ready for a month-long party because The Sims is celebrating its 25th Birthday with 25 days of gifts. That's right, 25 free gifts over 25 days, but you'll need to log in daily to claim them since each gift is only available for one day. This celebration runs through the end of February 2025, and EA is pulling out all the stops with updates, rereleases, events, and new content across the entire Sims franchise.
The Sims Mobile is also getting in on the action, offering two free gifts for anyone who logs in during its birthday week, starting March 4th. Plus, EA has teamed up with Spotify to create the ultimate Sims playlist, featuring the biggest hits from across the Sims games. It's the perfect soundtrack to your Sims birthday bash!
It’s a Blast from the Past!
The Sims FreePlay is taking you on a nostalgia trip back to the 2000s. To celebrate 25 years of The Sims, FreePlay is loading up on content that will transport you to an era of chunky flip phones, frosted tips, and velour tracksuits. Get ready for two new live events: The One with the Coffee Shop and Reality Island, both of which are a blast from the past. The Social Town update is also bringing new homes, a helicopter, and an entire museum packed with FreePlay history for you to explore.
