Spider-Man 4 Gets Small Delay to Move Clear of Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey

The release of the next Tom Holland Spider-Man movie has been pushed back a week, landing on July 31st, 2026. This shift from the original July 24th, 2026 release date likely provides crucial breathing room between it and Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey.

The revised release date positions the Spider-Man film two weeks after The Odyssey, offering a more comfortable window for both films, especially considering their potential IMAX releases – a preference well-known to Christopher Nolan. This is particularly noteworthy given Tom Holland's starring role in both movies.

Marvel has confirmed this fourth Spider-Man film, starring Tom Holland, as the next MCU project following Avengers: Doomsday (May 1st, 2026). Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi) will direct, having previously been slated for the next Avengers film before storyline adjustments related to the Kang character. The directing reins for Avengers: Doomsday have now been handed back to the Russo Brothers, with Robert Downey Jr. surprisingly cast as Doctor Doom.
