STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl - Just Like the Good Old Days Guide

This guide details the "Just Like the Good Old Days" main mission in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. The mission's preceding quest varies depending on choices made in "Wishful Thinking," either "To the Last Drop of Blood" or "Law and Order," both culminating in an escape from the SIRCAA.

Key Objectives

• Talk to Professor Lodochka at Wild Island: Locate Professor Lodochka at Quite's Camp on Wild Island. Expect an immediate encounter with mercenaries, clearly marked on your map. Equip yourself accordingly, as this is not the only combat encounter in this mission. Eliminating these mercenaries will reveal Lodochka's location. An optional objective, "Activate the Ventilation System," becomes available at this point.

• Activate the Ventilation System (Optional): This side objective enhances subsequent mission progression. Locate the marked fuse, then proceed to the marked engineering rooms to the north. Beware of an invisible enemy within the shelter. Use the fuse to restore power to the ventilation system. Completing this objective doesn't provide unique rewards but simplifies the remaining tasks.

• Find the Source of the Signal: Before proceeding, consider upgrading your weaponry. Navigate the cave entrance near the water, heading west through the caverns. Utilize a broken pipe to reach higher cave levels. Locate the large cone-shaped spire and retrieve the emitter from the marked point beside it. Another invisible enemy awaits on your return journey. Finally, report back to Professor Lodochka to complete the mission and unlock "Hornet's Nest."
