Leaked gameplay footage of the canceled Transformers: Reactivate has re-emerged online. Initially unveiled in 2022 by Splash Damage in collaboration with Hasbro, the co-op game promised a unique twist: Autobots and Decepticons uniting against an alien threat, "the Legion." While details remained scarce, the recent cancellation spurred the resurgence of previously leaked 2020 gameplay footage.
This footage showcases Bumblebee navigating a war-torn city, seamlessly shifting between robot and vehicle forms while engaging the Legion. The gameplay bears resemblance to Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, albeit with a different enemy faction. Despite some unfinished textures, the footage demonstrates a polished look, including environmental destruction. A silent cutscene concludes the clip, depicting Bumblebee's arrival in a ravaged New York City and a communication with an ally named Devin.
Numerous other leaks, dating back to 2020, further illustrate the game's development. Although Transformers: Reactivate will never be released, the leaked footage offers a compelling glimpse into the ambitious, albeit ultimately unsuccessful, project from Splash Damage.
