Gaijin Entertainment has revealed exciting updates for War Thunder's upcoming Firebirds update, arriving early November. This major update introduces a host of new aircraft, ground vehicles, and warships, significantly expanding the game's content.
New Aircraft: A Trio of Titans
The Firebirds update features some iconic additions to the War Thunder air fleet. Players can look forward to piloting the legendary American F-117 Nighthawk stealth attack aircraft, the versatile Russian Su-34 fighter-bomber, and the powerful F-15E Strike Eagle.
Let's examine these additions individually. The F-117A Nighthawk is a groundbreaking inclusion, marking War Thunder's first stealth aircraft. Its unique design, incorporating radar-absorbing materials and angular surfaces to deflect radar waves, makes it a formidable opponent. Its real-world performance during Operation Desert Storm, completing over 1,200 sorties without loss, speaks volumes about its capabilities.
The F-15E Strike Eagle represents a different kind of power. This upgraded F-15 variant boasts a significantly increased payload capacity (50% larger than its predecessor) and advanced ground target detection radar. Players will have access to a wide arsenal, including AGM-65 Maverick missiles, laser-guided bombs, JDAMs, and the GBU-39 satellite-guided bombs (capable of carrying 20 at once).
Beyond the Skies: Ground and Naval Additions
The Firebirds update extends beyond aircraft. The British FV107 Scimitar light tank and the French battleship Dunkerque join the ground and naval forces, respectively, adding further strategic depth to gameplay.
Aces High Season Continues
The new Aces High season is already underway, offering players the chance to unlock unique vehicles, earn trophies, and collect rewards through season and Battle Pass completion. This includes aircraft like the Bf 109 G-14, F2G-1, and La-11, as well as formidable ground units such as the T54E2 and G6, and ships like the HMS Orion and USS Billfish.
