Xbox Juggernaut Eyed for Nintendo Switch 2, PS5

Xbox's Multi-Platform Push Expands: Halo and Flight Simulator Rumored for PS5 and Switch 2

Reports suggest a significant expansion of Microsoft's multi-platform strategy, with potential releases of major Xbox franchises on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2. Industry insider NateTheHate claims that Halo: The Master Chief Collection is slated for both consoles, with a projected 2025 release. This follows Microsoft's February 2024 initiative to bring first-party titles to other platforms, including Pentiment, Hi-Fi Rush, Grounded, and Sea of Thieves. As Dusk Falls, while not directly developed by Microsoft, also falls under this umbrella due to its initial Xbox exclusivity. Further bolstering this trend, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 launched on non-Xbox platforms in October 2024, and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is expected on PS5 in Spring 2025.

The same source also indicates that a Microsoft Flight Simulator title, likely MFS 2024, will also see a multi-platform release in 2025 on PS5 and Switch 2.

This expansion is corroborated by another insider, Jez Corden, who tweeted that "way more" Xbox games will be arriving on PS5 and Switch 2 in 2025, suggesting the end of an era of exclusive Xbox titles. This aligns with the ten-year agreement between Microsoft and Nintendo to bring Call of Duty to Nintendo consoles, an agreement likely awaiting the release of the more powerful Switch 2 to fully realize its potential.
