Xbox Developer Direct 2025: A January Showcase Unveiled
Microsoft has announced the next Xbox Developer Direct, scheduled for January 23rd, marking the first Xbox game showcase of 2025 and the third installment of this annual event. Following the successful 2023 and 2024 iterations, this showcase will air at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT on YouTube and Twitch. This announcement follows earlier rumors circulating on January 9th.
Confirmed Games and Highlights:
The showcase will feature at least three titles:
- South of Midnight: A stylish action-adventure game from Compulsion Games (Contrast, We Happy Few), originally announced in June 2023. A release date may finally be revealed.
- Clair Obscur: Expedition 33: A turn-based RPG from Sandfall Interactive, targeting a 2025 release and confirmed as a day-one Xbox Game Pass title.
- Doom: The Dark Ages: From id Software, initially announced in June 2024 and playable at QuakeCon 2024. A mid-2025 release is currently rumored.
While these three games are confirmed, previous Developer Directs have lasted over 40 minutes and showcased multiple games. The 2024 event featured Avowed, Ara: History Untold, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, and Visions of Mana. Therefore, additional unannounced titles are likely.
