In the world of Zenless Zone Zero, exploration primarily revolves around the mysterious Hollows, where monsters emerge due to Ether corruption. New Eridu has ingeniously found ways to harness and monetize Ether, sparking a race among government entities, corporations, and gangs to exploit this resource. This has given rise to a new breed of adventurers known as Hollow Raiders, who delve into the Hollows in search of treasures and valuables.

Playable characters in ZZZ are deeply involved in these Hollows, each possessing significant or exceptional Ether Aptitudes. As a Proxy, you can form alliances with Agents from diverse backgrounds, including Hollow Raiders, construction firms, private institutions, and even government and security personnel.

During the Closed Beta Test (CBT), characters were categorized by Attack Type rather than Specialty/Role, which caused some confusion among players. In response, HoYoverse decided to introduce specific roles for each Agent while retaining the Attack Type, which can be viewed in the Agent's stat information.
