Overwatch 2's Avatar: The Last Airbender crossover event sparked creative fan discussions, highlighting missed opportunities for skin designs. While the event featured skins for main characters like Aang and Zuko, fans felt some choices were overlooked.

A popular suggestion was a Junkrat skin based on the Cabbage Merchant, a memorable character from the show. A fan artist, drawnbyjared, even created a concept design, which garnered significant praise for its clever incorporation of cabbages as ammunition, playfully suggesting a revenge storyline for the often-harassed merchant. This isn't the first time Overwatch 2 fans have created their own skins for crossovers; similar fan-made designs appeared during the My Hero Academia event.

Another missed opportunity, according to some fans, was a skin for Ashe, who shares a voice actor with the character June from Avatar. While the connection between Junkrat and the Cabbage Merchant is more thematic (shared comedic energy), the Ashe/June connection is a more direct link.

The focus on main Avatar characters, rather than side characters, seems to be the driving factor behind these omissions. Given the upcoming Avatar RPG is set thousands of years before the events of the show, a Cabbage Merchant appearance there is unlikely.
