Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is getting a much-requested feature: in-game challenge tracking. Treyarch Studios confirmed the development of this UI addition, addressing player disappointment over its absence from launch, unlike its inclusion in 2023's Modern Warfare 3.
While a release date remains unannounced, the upcoming Season 2 update later this month hints at a potentially swift implementation. This news follows a January 9th update focusing on bug fixes for Multiplayer and Zombies modes. The update notably reversed a controversial Zombies change, restoring the original round timing and zombie spawning mechanics after community feedback.
Challenge Tracking on the Way
Treyarch's Twitter response directly confirmed the challenge tracking feature is "currently in the works." This functionality, popular in Modern Warfare 3, will significantly improve the player experience, particularly for those pursuing Mastery camos. The anticipated in-game tracker will mirror Modern Warfare 3's design, providing real-time progress updates on selected challenges within the UI, eliminating the need to wait until match completion for progress checks.
More Updates Incoming
Further enhancing the Black Ops 6 experience, Treyarch also confirmed development of separate HUD settings for Multiplayer and Zombies modes, responding to player requests for customizable HUD options across different game modes. This highly anticipated feature is also "in the works."
In short, Treyarch is actively addressing player feedback, promising significant quality-of-life improvements to Black Ops 6 with the addition of challenge tracking and separate HUD settings for Multiplayer and Zombies. The upcoming Season 2 update will likely include at least one, if not both, of these highly anticipated features.
