For years, fans have been eagerly anticipating a big-screen adaptation of the gritty 2007 video game, *Kane & Lynch*, developed by the renowned Hitman studio, IO Interactive. The project has seen a rollercoaster of development with various Hollywood stars linked to it over time.

Recently, *Nobody 2* director Timo Tjahjanto took to social media to share insights into his involvement with the project. Tjahjanto revealed he crafted a treatment for the *Kane & Lynch* film, envisioning David Harbour, known for his roles as Jim Hopper in *Stranger Things* and Red Guardian in *Thunderbolts/New Avengers*, as a lead. "Never seen a script, but a couple of years ago when that property was still kinda hot," Tjahjanto wrote, "I wrote a short treatment with James Badge Dale and David Harbour in mind. Never gotten anywhere."

Despite Tjahjanto's efforts, the *Kane & Lynch* movie appears to be stuck in development limbo. His treatment was just one of many concepts pitched for the film that never materialized.

Over the years, high-profile actors like Bruce Willis and Jamie Foxx were once attached to the project, but both eventually withdrew as the script underwent numerous revisions. Another iteration reportedly aimed to feature Gerard Butler and Vin Diesel as the titular characters, yet this too failed to progress.

Following the release of the 2010 sequel, *Kane & Lynch: Dog Days*, which received mixed reviews, IO Interactive shifted their focus entirely to their acclaimed *Hitman* series, leaving the *Kane & Lynch* franchise and its potential film adaptation behind.
