Path of Exile 2's Endgame Rituals: A Comprehensive Guide

Path of Exile 2 introduces several endgame events, including Breaches, Expeditions, Delirium, and Rituals. This guide focuses on Rituals, a revamped mechanic from previous PoE leagues. Identifying and Initiating Rituals

On the Atlas, Ritual Altar map nodes are marked with a distinctive red pentagram icon. A Ritual Precursor Tablet, inserted into a completed Lost Tower, guarantees a Ritual encounter on a chosen node.

Once in a Ritual map, several Altars will spawn. Each map features a shared random modifier affecting enemy types or mechanics (e.g., massive rat waves, life-draining blood pools). Interact with an Altar to initiate a combat encounter within a designated zone. Leaving this zone prematurely ends the event and forfeits rewards. A map is considered complete after successfully completing all its Rituals.

The King in the Mists: Pinnacle Boss Encounter

Securing "An Audience With The King," a unique currency item, unlocks a fight against The King in the Mists, located in The Crux Of Nothingness. This boss shares mechanics with his Act 1 counterpart (Freythorn zone in Cruel difficulty). Defeating him grants 2 Ritual Passive Skill points, a chance at unique items, powerful currencies, and Omen items.

Mastering the Ritual Passive Skill Tree

The Ritual Passive Skill Tree (accessible via the Atlas Passive Skill Tree) enhances Ritual rewards. Nodes reduce Tribute requirements, improve rewards, and increase unique currency drop chances. The tree features eight Notable nodes and eight nodes increasing King in the Mists difficulty. Each Notable node requires defeating the Pinnacle boss at an increased difficulty.

Notable Node Prioritization:

Prioritize "From The Mists," "Spreading Darkness," and "Ominous Portents" initially, then "Tempting Offers" and "He Approaches."

Maximizing Rewards: Tribute and Favours

Completed Rituals yield Tribute, used to purchase randomized Favours. More Altars completed increase Tribute and unlock higher-tier rewards, including Rare items and high-value currencies. "An Audience With The King" is exclusively obtained through Favours.

Omen Currencies: Powerful Omen items can enhance other currency items. These are highly sought after for crafting.

Beyond the Tribute/Favour system, Ritual enemies drop high-tier currencies (Exalted Orbs, Vaal Orbs, etc.). The King in the Mists has a chance to drop Uniques from a Ritual-exclusive pool.
