Reaching Bloodmoon Island in Divinity: Original Sin 2: Two Methods Explained
Bloodmoon Island, shrouded in Deathfog and with its connecting bridge destroyed, presents a significant challenge in Divinity: Original Sin 2. This guide outlines two primary methods to overcome this obstacle and access the island's quests and storyline advancements.
Method 1: The Spirit Bridge
The remnants of the destroyed bridge lie northeast of Cloisterwood, near Jahan and Witch Alice. Using Spirit Vision reveals the broken pathways. Crossing requires strategic use of:
-
Gloves of Teleportation: These allow teleporting party members individually across the gaps.
-
Translocation Skills: Skills like Phoenix Dive, Cloak and Dagger, or Tactical Retreat enable teleporting, but may be limited by party composition.
-
Teleporter Pyramids: Two pyramids are needed. One companion uses translocation to cross, placing the second pyramid on the other side. The rest of the party then teleports to their location.
-
Fast Travel: Once a companion reaches Bloodmoon Island and unlocks the waypoint, the rest can fast travel.
Method 2: The Undead Ferry (Fane-Specific or with Teleporters)
A pier northwest of Cloisterwood houses an undead ferryman.
-
With Fane: Fane's undead nature grants immunity to Deathfog. He can take the ferry alone, unlock the waypoint, and allow the rest of the party to fast travel.
-
Without Fane: This requires at least two Teleporter Pyramids. One companion takes the ferry (dying in the process), and the others teleport to their location using the second pyramid. Resurrection is then necessary. This method is less efficient than using the bridge.
Important Note Regarding the Ferryman: Avoid attacking the Undead Ferryman unless you have a quick save. He retaliates with a potentially lethal Deathfog spell. Defeating him yields a Soothing Cold skillbook, a belt, and 3,750 XP. For parties without Fane, the bridge method is generally recommended for its speed and efficiency.
