Squad Busters is eliminating its Win Streak system, a significant change impacting gameplay and rewards. This decision, effective December 16th, aims to alleviate player pressure and frustration associated with maintaining long winning streaks.
Why the Change?
The Win Streak system, while intended to reward players, inadvertently created undue stress and negatively impacted the overall gaming experience for many. The developers felt this outweighed the positive aspects.
What's Happening?
- Win Streaks Removed: The feature is being completely removed on December 16th.
- Legacy Achievement: Your highest win streak will remain on your profile as a commemorative achievement.
- Milestone Emotes: Players reaching specific win streak milestones (0-9, 10, 25, 50, and 100) before December 16th will receive exclusive emotes as compensation.
- No Coin Refunds: Coins spent on boosting win streaks will not be refunded to maintain game balance between free-to-play and paying players.
Player Reaction:
The community response is mixed. Some welcome the reduced emphasis on pay-to-win mechanics, while others express disappointment with the removal and the perceived inadequacy of the compensation.
Cyber Squad Season:
Simultaneously, Squad Busters launched its new Cyber Squad season, brimming with rewards, including a free Solarpunk Heavy Skin. Players can jump in to explore the new content.
