Way of the Hunter: Wild America is coming to mobile devices, bringing its expansive open-world hunting experience to a new platform. PC players are already familiar with its acclaimed gameplay. Developed by Nine Rocks Games and originally released on PC and consoles in August 2022, the mobile port is currently in beta testing by THQ Nordic and HandyGames, with a full release planned soon.
Will the Mobile Version Be Complete?
While some graphical compromises are expected due to the limitations of mobile hardware, the core gameplay, including DLC, is slated for inclusion post-launch. HandyGames has announced a closed beta test via a sign-up form on their official X (formerly Twitter) account.
Is This the Ultimate Hunting Simulation?
Way of the Hunter challenges players with realistic hunting mechanics, requiring patience and strategic thinking. Animals behave naturally, reacting to the player's actions within vast open-world environments inspired by the USA and Europe, offering 55 square miles of explorable terrain.
The game features authentic hunting weapons, from rifles to bows, and incorporates detailed tracking elements like blood splatter analysis to aid in trophy acquisition.
The game's ecosystem dynamically responds to player actions. Overhunting in one area will cause animals to relocate, adding a layer of realism and consequence. An in-game economy allows players to sell harvested meat to purchase better equipment, hunting licenses, and taxidermy trophies for their lodge. Both campaign and co-op modes will be available, with full controller support on mobile.
