Netflix is venturing into the MMO genre with its latest announcement at GDC 2025: Spirit Crossing, a cozy life-sim developed by Spry Fox. If you've enjoyed Spry Fox’s previous titles like Cozy Grove and Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit, you're in for a treat with Spirit Crossing, which promises warm pastel visuals, soothing music, and a focus on fostering connections rather than competition.
Here’s What We Know About Netflix Spirit Crossing
Spirit Crossing invites players to explore a vast world, build and decorate homes, and cultivate a thriving village alongside others. You'll gather resources, ride on adorable fluffy creatures, participate in dance parties, and simply enjoy the company of friends.
The game's visual style draws inspiration from Studio Ghibli, French comics, and even modern art like Corporate Memphis, aiming to create a timeless and welcoming atmosphere that players will want to return to for years.
A unique in-game calendar system influences progression in Spirit Crossing. For instance, trees you plant will take three to six real-world months to mature into a harvestable orchard, echoing the slow-paced, long-term design philosophy that Spry Fox explored in Cozy Grove.
Connection is at the heart of Spirit Crossing. Studio co-founder David Edery has expressed a desire for the game to be a space that transforms strangers into friends, aligning with Spry Fox’s longstanding design ethos.
Netflix has released a trailer for Spirit Crossing, which showcases its charming and enchanting world. You can watch it below:
