Hotta Studios' upcoming open-world RPG, Neverness to Everness, is gearing up for its initial closed beta test. Unfortunately, this beta will be exclusive to mainland China. However, fans worldwide can still keep an eye on its progress as it approaches full release.
Gematsu recently highlighted some newly revealed lore details. If you've seen the trailers showcasing the city of Eibon (see below), the additions won't be entirely unexpected. The expanded lore delves into the game's more comedic aspects and the intriguing blend of the bizarre and ordinary within the world of Hetherau.
Hotta Studios, a subsidiary of Perfect World (creators of the popular Tower of Fantasy), is entering a competitive 3D RPG market increasingly focused on urban settings. Neverness to Everness, however, boasts unique features to set it apart.
One standout feature is open-world driving! Players can enjoy high-speed city chases, but be warned: crashes have realistic consequences.
The game faces significant competition upon release. It will contend not only with miHoYo's Zenless Zone Zero, a benchmark in mobile 3D open-world RPGs, but also NetEase's Ananta (formerly Project Mugen), developed by Naked Rain, which occupies a similar genre space.
