Midjiwan has unleashed a massive update for The Battle of Polytopia, completely overhauling the Aquarion Tribe. This revamp of the original special tribe (first introduced in 2017) is a game-changer.
Aquarion's Aquatic Transformation
The Aquarion have received a stunning makeover. Their land units now boast mermaid tails, making them amphibious warriors. This grants them effortless water traversal, although they're slower on land. The update introduces flooded terrain, allowing land and naval units to occupy the same space for the first time.
Buildings have also adapted to their aquatic environment. Construction on water is now possible, with Lost Cities nestled within deep-sea ruins, providing ideal strategic bases.
A new structure, the Atoll, connects water cities, eliminating the need for roads. Aqua Crops, a permanent addition to the Aquarion arsenal, function similarly to land-based crops.
New aquatic creatures enhance the gameplay experience. Sharks provide surprise attacks, Puffers unleash long-range bombardments, and Jellies stun enemies with electric shocks.
Returning favorites, the Tridentions and Crabs, are back with improved capabilities. Crabs now flood the tiles they traverse, synergizing perfectly with the mermaid-tailed troops. See it in action!
