Secure a Free Bow Early in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Early-game combat in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 can be challenging, leaving you ill-equipped. Fortunately, acquiring the Dogwood Village Bow early and without cost is entirely possible. This guide outlines how to obtain this valuable weapon.
After parting ways with Hans, your path to the wedding involves either working for a blacksmith or miller. Regardless of your chosen profession, the blacksmith's location on your map provides easy access to the bow.
The blacksmith's workshop is situated in Tachov, north of Troskowitz (the prologue's end point). Travel west from Troskowitz, following the path as it curves north. At the fork where a smaller road branches west, turn right towards a cluster of trees. This seemingly unremarkable area houses a small training ground.
Locate the archery target; collect the arrows for ammunition. To the right of the target, against a tree trunk, you'll find the Dogwood Village Bow. Nearby, you can also gather brew from a stump and collect mushrooms.
Alternative Acquisition:
While purchasable from Huntsman's Son Vitek in Tachov, buying the Dogwood Village Bow isn't cost-effective, especially considering its proximity to the free version. Vitek, however, offers superior weapons, and alchemy (herb gathering and potion brewing) provides a lucrative income stream.
Regardless of your chosen method, having a ranged weapon significantly enhances combat, particularly beneficial for those who prefer ranged combat over melee. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's combat, while familiar to the first game, isn't universally appealing.
After securing the bow, continue your questline, either by working as a blacksmith (remember to save after forging a sword) or by pursuing the miller's path.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
