Akupara Games has recently released a flurry of titles. Following the launch of the deck-building game Zoeti, they've now unveiled The Darkside Detective, a quirky puzzle adventure, and its sequel, The Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the Dark (both simultaneously!).
Exploring the Darkside Detective Universe
The game opens on a gloomy, mist-shrouded night in Twin Lakes, a town where the bizarre and supernatural are everyday occurrences. Players control Detective Francis McQueen and his endearingly inept partner, Officer Patrick Dooley, as they navigate the underfunded Darkside Division of the Twin Lakes Police Department. Nine engaging cases await, plunging players into the hilarious and strange world of The Darkside Detective and its equally witty follow-up.
These point-and-click adventures present a diverse range of challenges, from time-travel mysteries and monstrous tentacles to carnival secrets and zombie mobsters. The trailer below offers a glimpse into the game's unique atmosphere!

Worth a Play?
The Darkside Detective is a playful homage to pop culture, brimming with references to classic horror films, sci-fi series, and buddy cop movies. Case titles alone – "Malice in Wonderland," "Tome Alone," "Disorient Express," to name a few – hint at the game's lighthearted yet intriguing nature.
The game's remarkable blend of humor and pixel art is a standout feature. Priced at $6.99 on the Google Play Store, The Darkside Detective offers a captivating experience. Furthermore, A Fumble in the Dark can be enjoyed independently of its predecessor, also available on Google Play.
