How to Use Voodoo Doll in PhasmophobiaWhat Are Cursed Objects (Possessions) in Phasmophobia? How to Use Voodoo Doll in Phasmophobia
Screenshot by The Escapist The Voodoo Doll is often considered one of the safer Cursed Possessions to use in Phasmophobia due to its favorable risk-reward ratio. Although game updates have modified some of its benefits, it remains a valuable asset for ghost hunters.
The primary function of the Voodoo Doll is to compel the ghost to perform actions that can reveal evidence. This is achieved by inserting pins into the doll one at a time. It's particularly useful for dealing with ghosts that are reluctant or silent, as it can provoke them to produce evidence such as EMF5 readings or Ultraviolet prints.
There are 10 pins that can be used with the doll, each triggering a ghost action. However, users must be cautious as each pin insertion reduces their sanity by 5%. Inserting all pins can drain up to 50% of your sanity, significantly increasing the risk of ghost hunts.
The most dangerous aspect of the Voodoo Doll is the heart pin. The placement of pins is random, and if you accidentally insert the heart pin, it will instantly drop your sanity by 10% and trigger a Cursed Hunt. During a Cursed Hunt, the ghost will appear near your location and hunt for an extended period, 20 seconds longer than usual.
Despite the risks, the potential reward of gathering crucial evidence can make using the Voodoo Doll worthwhile, provided you are well-prepared.
What Are Cursed Objects (Possessions) in Phasmophobia?
Screenshot by The Escapist Cursed Possessions, also known as "Cursed Objects," are unique items in Phasmophobia that randomly appear on any map, influenced by difficulty settings or Challenge Mode.
Unlike standard equipment, which helps locate ghosts and gather evidence with minimal risk, Cursed Objects offer a way to manipulate the ghost at a significantly higher risk. The safety of using these objects varies based on their abilities, and the choice to use them lies with you and your team. There is no penalty for choosing not to use them, and typically, only one Cursed Possession will spawn per contract, unless modified in Custom settings.
The game features seven different Cursed Objects:
- Haunted Mirror
- Voodoo Doll
- Music Box
- Tarot Cards
- Ouija Board
- Monkey Paw
- Summoning Circle
