Wuthering Waves version 2.0 introduces the enchanting Rinascita region, teeming with new Tacet Discords for adventurers to explore. Among these fascinating creatures is the Chop Chop—a floating eyeball adorned with a top hat and flanked by two hovering hands, reminiscent of characters from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. While various Chop Chops roam the Rinascita landscape, a unique variant known as the Lifer presents a formidable challenge to players.

The Lifer awaits at the heart of the maze in Oakheart Highcourt, nestled within the Fagaceae Peninsula. This distinctive Chop Chop boasts multiple buffs that bolster its resilience and amplify its damage output. This comprehensive guide will equip players with the strategies needed to strip away many of the Lifer's buffs in Wuthering Waves, significantly easing the battle ahead.

How to Defeat the Lifer

How to Find the Lifer

To locate the Lifer, head to the central structure of the maze in Oakheart Highcourt, situated directly beneath the roots of the colossal tree. Not all entrances to the Lifer's lair are initially accessible. However, an open entrance lies on the southwest side, aligned with the Resonance Beacon near Oakheart Highcourt. Players can either scale the walls from the beacon’s vicinity or utilize the Flight function to soar over the maze.

The Lifer Board Game

Upon entering, you'll encounter the Lifer beside a grand board game adorned with six game pieces. The goal is to align three pieces in a row before the Lifer achieves the same. Players maneuver the black pieces, while the Lifer controls the white ones. Crucially, the board game influences the maze's walls at Oakheart Highcourt based on the placement of the black pieces. Positioning a black piece on the outer circle of the board will unlock the corresponding walls and gates. Players can exit the game at any time, and the positions of the pieces will remain intact.

While direct combat with the Lifer is an option, engaging in the board game is crucial for debuffing the Lifer. It's advisable not to win the game before removing the buffs, as doing so will trigger immediate combat.

How to Remove the Lifer's Buffs

The Lifer is fortified with seven buffs, making it a daunting opponent without a well-prepared team. Four of these buffs can be neutralized using an item called the Stake of Imbalance, while the other three are permanent. These buffs can be inspected via the glowing yellow module positioned behind the Lifer.

Removable Buffs (Fragility):

  • Growing Loneliness: The Lifer regenerates 10% of its Max HP every second if not attacked for over 2s.
  • Desire for Escape: Enhances the Lifer's ATK by 25%. Additionally, every 20s, the damage dealt by the Lifer increases by an additional 25%.
  • Impending Stalemate: Boosts the Lifer's ATK by 20% each time it inflicts damage, stacking up to 4 times. If no damage is dealt within 6s, all stacks are reset.
  • Decay of Time: Grants the Lifer 200% resistance to Glacio, Fusion, Electro, Aero, Spectro, and Havoc. Its Max HP is also increased by 25%.

Permanent Buffs (Stability):

  • Chains of Confinement: The Lifer becomes immune to interruptions when its HP exceeds 50%.
  • Endless Game: Reduces the duration of the Lifer's Immobilization state by 50%.
  • Divine Garden: Following a single hit exceeding 25% of its Max HP, the Lifer repels nearby foes and inflicts damage.

To find the Stake of Imbalance items, players must activate the Sensor utility tool near the Lifer, revealing four purple lines that guide to their locations. These lines direct players to four rooms on the maze's outer ring. Accessing each room requires strategic manipulation of the game board by placing black pieces in the direction of the desired rooms, thereby unlocking the respective walls and gates.

The game board retains the positions of the pieces after exiting, allowing players to focus on one room at a time.

Once a gate is opened, follow the path to the room's end, where a winged statue awaits. Two rooms require defeating Tacet Discords, one involves shattering Friable Rocks, and the final Stake of Imbalance is found on a table. Each Stake of Imbalance emits a white glow, making it easy to locate and collect.

After securing a Stake of Imbalance, insert it into the module in front of the corresponding statue to dispel the linked buff from the Lifer. The removal of a buff is confirmed when the purple line turns yellow, as seen through the Sensor.

Defeating the Lifer

With all four removable buffs eliminated, the Lifer becomes a more manageable adversary. Players can now either triumph in the board game or opt for "Fight it out!" at the chair to commence battle. Stripped of its four removable buffs, the Lifer's strength is comparable to that of a standard Chop Chop encountered in the wild. Its abilities—punch, grab, and spin—no longer pose a significant threat or inflict severe damage.

Conquering the Lifer for the first time rewards players with a Premium Supply Chest. A second victory unlocks another Premium Supply Chest and three Basic Supply Chests. A third and final triumph yields an Advanced Supply Chest along with three Standard Supply Chests.

Players have the option to re-activate the buffs by interacting with the same four modules, intensifying the challenge. However, no achievements are tied to defeating the Lifer with all buffs active.

The Lifer Achievements

Beyond the chests, players can also unlock four achievements related to the Lifer and its board game.

  • The Lifer's Salvation: Vanquish the Lifer in Oakheart Highcourt.
  • The Ring of The Lifer: Secure all treasures safeguarded by the Lifer
    • Defeat it three times to claim all nine chests.
  • Limit of Intelligence: Outwit the Lifer in the game at Oakheart Highcourt.
  • Alpha Go: Succumb to the Lifer 10 times in the game at Oakheart Highcourt.

For those struggling to best the Lifer in the board game, focus on thwarting its attempts to form a line. The Lifer will eventually grow impatient and make a glaring error, providing an opportunity to seize victory.
