Microsoft has issued an apology to Jyamma Games after facing issues with the Xbox launch of the developer's debut title, Enotria: The Last Song. This follows delays in the Xbox certification process, which had led to an indefinite postponement of the game's Xbox release.
Jyamma Games Thanks Phil Spencer and Player Community
The situation escalated when Jyamma CEO Jacky Greco expressed frustration on the game's official Discord channel, stating, "You can ask Xbox why they haven't answered us for two months," and adding, "Obviously they don't care about Enotria and they don't care about you... We've got the Xbox Series X/S version ready, but we can't proceed with submission and release. I spent a lot of money for porting and they decided to ignore us."
However, the situation took a positive turn when Microsoft reached out to Jyamma Games with an apology. On X (formerly Twitter), Jyamma Games expressed their gratitude, stating, "We would like to officially thank Phil Spencer and his team for reaching out to us so promptly and helping to resolve our situation." They also acknowledged the vocal support from their player community, saying, "Your voice has been heard very loud and clear, and your commitment has been heartwarming."
Jyamma Games confirmed they are now working closely with Microsoft, hoping to bring Enotria: The Last Song to Xbox as soon as possible. CEO Jacky Greco shared more details on the game’s Discord server, noting, "They contacted us and said sorry about the situation, we're trying to solve everything as soon as possible."
This isn't an isolated incident, as other studios, like Funcom, have also faced challenges with Xbox releases. Funcom's Chief Product Officer Scott Junior recently disclosed optimization issues with porting Dune: Awakening to the Xbox Series S.
While the PS5 and PC versions of Enotria: The Last Song are set to launch on September 19, the Xbox release date remains uncertain. For those interested in learning more about Enotria: The Last Song, you can find additional information at the link below.
