Assassin's Creed Shadows players won't miss content by sticking to one character

In the highly anticipated game Assassin's Creed Shadows, players will have the unique opportunity to choose between two compelling protagonists: Naoe, a skilled female shinobi, and Yasuke, a historical African samurai whose inclusion has already stirred significant conversation within the gaming community. Jonathan Dumont, the creative director of Assassin's Creed Shadows, has stepped in to address these concerns, offering insights into his own balanced approach to the game. Dumont shared, "I tend to switch between characters fairly evenly. For example, I might spend 3-5 hours with one protagonist, then switch and play another 2-3 hours with the second." This approach showcases the flexibility that players have in exploring the game's world through the eyes of both protagonists.

However, Dumont reassures players that they won't be at a significant disadvantage if they choose to focus on one character. He explained that while each protagonist offers their own exclusive opening sequences and personal story arcs, the game's design ensures that it adapts to the player's choices. Dumont encourages players to follow their preferences, stating, "I don’t believe you’ll miss out on a lot. It really comes down to your personal playstyle. You might think, 'Alright, I’ll see how the game adjusts based on which character I pick.' Each hero has their own unique introductions and dedicated questlines, but the core experience is flexible. You can choose your favorite, and the narrative will adapt accordingly."
