NieR: Automata resource management can be tricky. While some materials are plentiful, upgrading numerous weapons requires significant quantities, even of common resources. Dented Plates, a frequently needed upgrade component, are no exception. Fortunately, efficient farming methods exist.
Efficient Dented Plate Farming in NieR: Automata
Several machine types reliably drop Dented Plates:
- Small Biped (all variants)
- Small Flyer (all variants)
- Small Sphere (all variants)
These common enemies appear throughout the game. However, relying solely on respawning enemies via fast travel isn't the most efficient strategy.
The optimal location is the arena where you first encounter Adam.
Fast travel to the Desert: Housing Complex access point. Proceed deeper into the ruins and descend to the pit. Here, machines continuously respawn, with numerous Small Bipeds being the most prevalent. While their level may vary depending on your game progress, they offer a respectable Dented Plate drop rate. This location is also beneficial for Titanium Alloy farming.
Alternatively, the Forest Kingdom features numerous groups of spear-wielding Bipeds. These groups generally yield at least one Dented Plate. Exploring the forest also provides opportunities to gather Beast Hide. Higher-level Bipeds boast increased Dented Plate drop rates, making story progression advantageous for both enemy encounters and improved drop chances.
Remember to equip drop-rate increasing plug-in chips to further boost your yield. Avoid death, as this will permanently lose your chips.
