MachineGames, the studio behind Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, has confirmed a significant departure from their previous titles: no dogs will be harmed in the upcoming adventure game. This decision, according to Creative Director Jens Andersson in an interview with IGN, stems from the game's family-friendly nature and Indiana Jones's characterization as a dog lover.

While previous games like Wolfenstein featured violent encounters with animals, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will handle canine encounters differently. Andersson explained that while dogs might be present as obstacles, players won't be able to inflict harm upon them; instead, Indy will focus on scaring them away.

"Indiana Jones is a dog person," Andersson stated, highlighting the decision's alignment with the iconic character's personality. This approach represents a conscious effort to maintain the game's family-friendly appeal while delivering an engaging and exciting Indiana Jones experience.

The game, set in 1937 between Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade, sees Indy pursuing stolen artifacts, leading him on a globe-trotting adventure. His trusty whip will be used for traversal and combat against human enemies, but thankfully, not against our four-legged friends.
