Capcom Launches First-Ever Game Development Competition for Students
Capcom is fostering collaboration between industry and academia with its inaugural Capcom Games Competition, a game development tournament designed to bolster the Japanese video game industry. This initiative aims to cultivate future talent and advance research in game development.
A Collaborative Approach to Game Development
The competition, open to Japanese university, graduate, and vocational school students (18 years or older), challenges teams of up to 20 participants to create a game using Capcom's proprietary RE ENGINE. Teams will be guided by experienced Capcom developers, learning state-of-the-art development techniques over a six-month period. Winning teams will receive valuable game production support, including potential commercialization opportunities.
