The developers of REPO have unveiled their roadmap for upcoming game features, including a "duck bucket" designed to prevent the duck from eliminating players. Continue reading to explore their future content plans and discover what the creator of Lethal Company thinks about the game.
Details of REPO's First Major Update
Duck Bucket: Your Defense Against The Duck

REPO's inaugural update introduces a new map along with a "duck bucket" tool to help players neutralize the duck threat. Semiwork Studios released a YouTube video on March 15th outlining their planned improvements for the game.
REPO is an online cooperative horror experience supporting up to six players, where teams must carefully extract and retrieve items within a terrifying environment. During gameplay, players might encounter The Apex Predator - a small yellow duck that transforms into a horrifying monster when damaged or picked up, attacking players for ten seconds before reverting to its normal form.
Developers will soon implement the "duck bucket" as a trapping mechanism to stop the persistent duck from tracking players. This addition also helps prevent teammates from accidentally triggering the duck's monster transformation. The upcoming update will also feature enhanced facial expressions and various quality-of-life improvements.
New "The Museum" Map and Public Lobby System

Semiwork Studios has confirmed an upcoming map titled "The Museum," designed to challenge players' parkour abilities. Additionally, extraction zones will display visible boundaries to clearly indicate whether collected loot falls within the extraction area.
The studio is also developing public lobby functionality, incorporating extensive player feedback. "Since most players appear comfortable with matchmaking systems that allow both public and private hosting alongside a kick feature, we're prioritizing these elements. For transparency, implementing a kick button involves complex server-side programming that represents new technical territory for our team," explained the developers.
However, Semiwork Studios acknowledged the technical challenges involved, indicating this feature might arrive later than initially expected.
Lethal Company Creator's Perspective on REPO
Since its February release, players have frequently compared REPO to the popular cooperative horror title Lethal Company due to shared mechanics and themes. On March 15th, Lethal Company creator Zeekerss offered constructive feedback, highlighting areas for potential improvement in future updates.
His social media post stated: "REPO delivers enjoyable moments. Initially, I questioned my enjoyment due to slow movement speed and limited voice chat range. However, coordinating with a team to maneuver a grand piano through tight mansion corridors without damaging it creates uniquely hilarious horror gameplay." He expanded in the comments: "I'll share more detailed thoughts on Patreon, but primary suggestions include: 1. Extending voice chat range while reducing audio muffling 2. Large open environments don't complement the game's design effectively (similar to Phasmophobia) - the constrained mansion layouts showcase the strongest gameplay."

Responding to concerns about silent enemy approaches, Zeekerss noted: "Absolutely, the game needs integrated methods for learning enemy behaviors, though I'm confident the developers have this planned."
R.E.P.O. represents the newest viral cooperative horror sensation, currently available exclusively on PC. At the time of writing, it ranks as Steam's second best-selling title behind Counter-Strike 2. SteamDB records show the game has achieved over 230,645 simultaneous players, approaching Lethal Company's all-time peak of 240,817 concurrent users.
