A simple non-field RPG: Escape the cursed forest. This game challenges you to survive and escape a mysterious forest.
-Prologue-
You're the village's best hunter, drawn to a national hunting tournament near the royal capital. After your first night camping, you discover something unsettling: the camp is deserted. All the other hunters have vanished, leaving behind only the remnants of their gear. National guards, responsible for the tournament's oversight, are nowhere to be found.
Despite your excellent sense of direction, you find yourself disoriented. Familiar landmarks seem to shift, and you realize you're lost in a place far stranger than you initially imagined. Your journey to escape begins...
-What is the "Elven Curse"?-
Aided by a peculiar quarter-elf, you must use your hunting skills to navigate the cursed forest. Gameplay is streamlined with a maximum of three button presses per action (excluding the main menu).
-Character Creation-
While character customization is limited, you can reroll your stats as often as needed before starting. Stat increases from leveling up are only visible on the character creation screen and cannot be checked in-game. This screen serves as your in-game status check point. The game ends when your life force reaches zero and you run out of "talismans" (less than 2).
-Foria, the Peddler Quarter-Elf-
A mysterious boy (or perhaps something else) who claims to be a quarter-elf and older than you. Despite his disinterest in your plight, he secretly assists your escape using the forest's ancient spirits.
-Narrative & Setting-
The prologue unfolds like a visual novel, while Foria's dialogue maintains a cheerful tone. The game's world is depicted through subtle, evocative language.
-Exploration-
Progress involves exploring unexplored areas within each section of the forest. The success of each exploration attempt is influenced by the area's "fog depth," which is determined by your character's stats. If your life force is depleted, you can use poison or rare "talismans" to recover, or return to Foria.
-Beast Encounters & Hunter Battles-
Fierce creatures, including wild dogs, wolves, and even frogs and rabbits, inhabit the forest. Defeating them yields hides for trading with Foria. Unlike traditional RPGs, combat doesn't grant experience points; the goal is simply escape. All battles are avoidable (though this requires luck or skillful play).
As a hunter, you use a bow and arrow. Maintain distance to attack safely without risking counterattacks. From a distance, you can also use wound medicine. If the beast closes the distance, you can either attempt a strategic withdrawal (success depends on your stats) or use a "flash" ball provided by Foria for guaranteed escape.
-Cloak & Layering System-
Using gathered branches, resin, and leather, you can craft a cloak to enhance your abilities. You can layer up to three cloaks, with each layer adding to the ability boost. In rare cases, a cloak can restore your vitality. Note that your outer cloak can be damaged and eventually become unusable. The bow and arrow remain your only weapon.
-Game Features-
- Skill selection from random options.
- Challenges requiring reflexes, strategy, skill, and luck.
- Material collection, synthesis, and alchemy systems.
- Thorough preparation before progressing.
- Autosave (though not during battles; close the app from the base menu for a guaranteed save).
