In a recent interview with MinnMax, Josef Fares, the head of Hazelight Studios, unveiled crucial details about their upcoming game, *Split Fiction*. Fares reiterated Hazelight's steadfast commitment to steering clear of live-service models and microtransactions. The studio also firmly stated their intention to remain independent, with no plans to go public or be acquired by a larger corporation. Fares emphasized their mission, saying, "We're not going public. No microtransactions. We focus solely on delivering great gaming experiences."
Fares revealed that the core narrative of *Split Fiction* is expected to last around 12-14 hours, a duration that closely mirrors that of their previous hit, *It Takes Two*. For players looking to dive deeper, the inclusion of optional missions and additional content could extend the gameplay experience to 16-17 hours.
While Hazelight is renowned for its cooperative gameplay titles, Fares hinted at the potential for future exploration into single-player games. He also disclosed that the budget for *Split Fiction* is double that of *It Takes Two*. Despite this significant investment, the studio has chosen to forgo post-launch DLC, ensuring that all features are available to players from the game's launch day. *Split Fiction* is set to launch globally on March 6th, and will be available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
